Air loungers/Hammocks..........So who came up with this great idea? Lamzac is the name of the small 8-person company in the Netherlands that invented the Hangout. The name “Lamzac” literally means “lazy person” or “inactive sack.”
Air lounges are based on the design of drybags. A drybag is a waterproof sack that has a top that rolls up three times to form a watertight seal. Instead of just being waterproof, these air loungers are “air-proof.” They are made to hold air inside, and they usually last up to 4-6 hours before needing to be refilled, or at least plumped up a bit. Most of them have a plastic liner on the inside and a rip-stop nylon exterior shell. They have wide openings to scoop up the air. These openings have ends that roll over and clip shut to keep the air inside. There are no valves and no way you can fill them with an air pump. People using a inflatable air lounger for the first time love how comfortable it feels. But they also complain at how difficult it can be to inflate one. It seems like it’s much easier if there is a breeze to start. Then running with the bag or making broad swooshes through the air finishes the job. All the companies insist that once you get the hang of it, it’s simple. I tested the inflatable Air Lounge by AIWOTOWOW this month while camping. It’s comfortable to sit on and easy to inflate. AIWOTOWOW Inflatable Hammocks are on sale and priced at $25.99. They are made of a polyurethane coated nylon and rated to hold 400-440 pounds before they burst. To test it out, I set some kids loose to roll, jump, and bounce (lightly) on the Air Lounge by AIWOTOWOW . It held up to a weekend of abuse, serving as a great camp chair as long as you avoid bonfire sparks. Air Lounge by AIWOTOWOW say to fill with air from a standing position. During our trip, we were forced to run back and forth, scooping at air in an effort to inflate the lounger. The trick is to hold one side open, run a bit, then turn back with the opposite side agape. It’s a maneuver that conjured big laughs at the campsite. Once inflated, the plush seat lets you lie out across its expanse in “hammock mode” or sit facing forward. It’s comfy either way, and with some practice two or three adults can get cozy on the cushion of air. The Air Lounge by AIWOTOWOW works at the beach or at an outdoors concert. It gives a seat that’s far superior to the common towel unrolled on the ground. Unlike a folding chair, this inflatable option packs to about the size of a big loaf of bread. It weighs a couple pounds. Give the Air Lounge by AIWOTOWOW a sit this summer. I was impressed with the design and happy to discover a new way to take a load off while outdoors.
